My name is Jayd Capela, and I'm the Broker Owner of Motto Mortgage Selections! I was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, but later moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 2006, where I graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School. Palm Coast has been home for most of my life, it’s where I’ve grown up, built my career, and started my family.

Before getting into real estate in 2014, I served honorably in the United States Air Force as a combat veteran, deploying to the Middle East in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve. My time in the military shaped who I am today, discipline, accountability, and always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

After my service, I spent six years with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office working in the Special Investigations Unit. Helping people has always been at the core of what I do, whether that was in uniform or now helping families and investors navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

Real estate has always been in my blood. My mother is a RE/MAX broker owner, and my father is a luxury custom home builder who also owns an HVAC business. I grew up around job sites, open houses, contracts, and conversations about homes and neighborhoods. So when I co-founded Motto Mortgage Selections in 2020, it felt like a natural step. My goal was simple, build a mortgage company that’s honest, transparent, and truly puts people first.

That commitment has been recognized along the way, including being honored with the Motto Mortgage Rookie of the Year Award, but what matters most to me is the relationships. The phone calls after closing, the referrals from past clients, and knowing people trust me with something this important means everything.

Giving back is a huge part of who we are. Through our annual Take A Swing at Hunger golf tournament, we’ve raised over $45,000 for local food banks and helped provide more than 50,000 pounds of food to families right here in our community. We also give back through our nonprofit, Corner Stone 386, supporting foster care programs, children’s cancer centers, and other local causes that hit close to home.
